POST-EDITING

In recent years, the translation industry has undergone major changes related to the latest developments in computer technology. First came computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools and, more recently, post-editing.

Post-editing is based on a translation generated by a machine translator, which applies different sets of rules and algorithms. In this case, the source translation serves as a basis to understand the general meaning of the original text, but it does not offer optimal quality, given that translation engines overlook many important elements when translating a text, such as cultural aspects and the target audience. During the post-editing phase, errors in the machine translation are corrected in order to offer the customer the best quality translation.

Compared to conventional translation, post-editing offers a faster and cheaper service, although it is not suitable for all cases. Some examples are advertising texts, literary texts and, basically, all those that require a creative touch.

At Globalingua, we have professionals with several years of experience in post-editing. We can help you assess whether this service suits your texts and offer you a service that fits your expectations and budget.
